The NVBC competition was stiff. The stakes were high. And after a long and exciting competition process, Leasey.AI has taken home the National Bank of Canada‘s Leap to the Cloud Prize at the annual New Ventures BC Awards competition.
After advancing to the New Ventures BC top 10 finalists in August, the Leasey team worked hard to develop a final-round in-person pitch for the judging panel.
The pitch day was an exciting time of optimism, ideas, and innovative thinking as some of the country’s best tech startups shared their visions with the judging panel.

A grand total of 203 startups took part in the NVBC competition this year, and the NVBC organization award ceremony honoured eight winners and one alumnus.

Top Three Grand Prize Winners at NVBC
RetreatsandVenues.com, a booking support software for corporate events, took home the top prize of the night, with Browse AI taking second place, and Blanka taking third place.
Browse AI is a platform that enables anyone to transform websites into spreadsheets or data pipelines. Blanka is a wholesale digital fulfilment partner for beauty products.
Specialty Category Winners and Recognition
Viridis Research won the Innovate BC Sustainability Prize for their water tech solution aimed at improving water quality.
joni® 21st Century Period Care won the Innovate BC Regional Startup Prize.
Ginger Desk, a professional VA support service for healthcare practitioners, took home the Innovate BC Woman-Led Venture Award.
Finally, Seleste won the Luminaries Diamond-in-the-Rough Award. Seleste is a tech startup focused on improving the lives of those with vision loss.
NVBC Alumni Impact Award Winner
Jane.app won the Alumni Impact Award, an award that recognizes NVBC competition alumni who have made a positive impact on the BC technology industry.
The Jane.app software provides efficient online appointment and practice management support for healthcare practitioners.
